Если со вторыми понятно — нет расходов на офис, не нужно платить за аренду, исполнители на связи в любое время, а не строго «с девяти до шести», то работники любят самостоятельную деятельность за следующие преимущества:
- Удобное время. Биоритмы у людей разные, кому-то лучше всего работается в пять утра, другому — в три ночи.
- Отсутствие дресс-кода и необходимости приезжать в офис. Сокращает расходы на «приличную» одежду, на транспорт, на обеды вне дома. Одеваться большинству людей приятнее в джинсы и любимую футболку, а не деловой костюм, да и любителей толкаться в час-пик в общественном транспорте или стоять в пробке немного.

Все эти преимущества кажутся необычайно привлекательным начинающим веб и digital дизайнерам. Однако существуют негативные нюансы, из-за которых профессионалы не рекомендуют новичкам начинать деятельность с фриланса.
Минусы «свободной» работы
За все хорошее приходится платить. Самостоятельный способ заработка — не исключение, недостатков у него немало. Среди них:
- Трудность вхождения на рынок. Новичок без хорошего портфолио вряд ли сразу же отыщет выгодные заказы. Все уже давным-давно «схвачено», конкурентов никто не ждет.
- Есть риск не выбраться из копеечных заказов. Связано с предыдущим пунктом: рынок предложения перегружен, поэтому клиенты пытаются устанавливать свои правила, а они просты — желание платить как можно меньше. В свою очередь, дешевые простые заказы не украшают портфолио. Получается замкнутый круг.

- Самоорганизация. Кому-то легко оторваться от видеоигры или сериала, чтобы сесть за работу. Кому-то нет. Будьте честными с собой уже на этом этапе.
- Управление или менеджмент проектов. Вы должны держать всю «картинку» в голове, не будет никакой помощи извне.
- Проблемные клиенты будут только вашей проблемой, поэтому если плохо умеете общаться с людьми, фриланс покажется сложным.
Специалисты digital-сферы рекомендуют новичкам всегда начинать с офисной деятельности, переходить к самостоятельному заработку только после того, как появится достойное портфолио, которое будет говорить само за себя.

Новичку дизайна, только закончившему ВУЗ лучше всего начинать с агентства. Иногда крупные агентства предлагают стажировку — соглашайтесь, вы не получите денег, но обретете нечто более ценное: опыт, портфолио, возможные рекомендации. А потом появятся интересные проекты. Главное — проявить себя.
Студия — неплохой вариант, если вы не любите крупных компаний. Как правило, студии небольшие, над проектом работают пять-десять человек. Атмосфера обычно теплая и дружественная. Но если дизайнер один и это вы, то учиться будет не у кого, ситуация практически аналогична фрилансу.
Крупная компания, занимающаяся конкретным продуктом. Здесь будет много опытных дизайнеров, нетрудно получить советы и быстро развиваться. Минус — постоянно работа связана с одним продуктом. Однообразие надоедает.
